The Purest Song
A small selection of poems are below however I’m currently in the process of writing/compiling a book. In the meantime you can see more of my work @thepurestsong on Instagram.
Power
You will be sanctified
or forsaken at my choosing
My legacy?
Fucking you up for life.
In Memoriam
When I’m alone I sleep
in a bed that’s been made before I climb in
and everything must stay just so
or I become a frazzled nerve
You tangle yourself in my sheets
the way you do my life
So that you entwined in my things
and my home is slumber and sunbeams
in peaceful chaos, in this nest
An extension of each other, we are tethered
When you leave you repel and twist yourself out
Ball my linens into a small corner of the bed
And when I return to it
for several nights I sleep in it, untouched
Cradled in the mess you made
Aim True
Your honey tongue emits
sweet sticky words
that poison my heart
like a doe in the wood
I would follow you home
all the same
but you’d rather see
me fall and squirm
Oh, how they praise you
an astounding kill
what a beauty
what skill you’ve displayed
You’re the toast of the town
are you known
for adding insult to injury?
you should be
Fan Club
I love the way you smell when we go to bed
and you’ve had your evening cigarette
your evening beer and your evening strum
Cologne is useless in our house
and your mouth is a carnival of my favorite candy
Do you ever tire of the way I sparkle
When you walk in the room?

I saw it scratched into the side of a gas pump stand
and I don’t even know if it was meant to say your name
but that’s what I saw
I saw it on the television screen behind the bar of a half empty karaoke joint
while my friend’s voice competed with the music in my ear
I could see it in the stars if I tried
